Ali is an experienced and pragmatic Senior Yoga Teacher [Yoga Alliance] helping students to explore the mind-body with gentle somatic movement and meditation.

Her teachings skilfully guide practitioners to experience their own unique sensory feedback so that movement is from a place of gentle organic inquiry.

The passion for somatic movement came about as a result of injury and ageing tissues, whereby Ali readjusted her practice to incorporate small, considered floor-based movements.  The health benefits were marked in particular more ease in the tissues, space in the joints and “the felt sense of really listening to the super sensory highway of the mind-body”.

As well as teaching privately and in Yoga studios,  Ali also works with corporate clients and on projects with vulnerable individuals and groups.  Most recently she spent a year working in women’s refuges delivering the Wellbeing for Women project.

She is greatly influenced and inspired by the teachings of Tias Little [Prajna Yoga] with whom she continues to study.

Yoga found me over 25 years ago and what a journey it has been.  Being an ex Military Policewoman, a keen runner and PA to celebs I  arrived at that first class thinking ‘what can this teach me?”   I soon found out and was hooked.   At first it was all about the physical [the asana] and then I met myself, all of me – the dark and the light – and so the real pilgrimage has begun and is still a work in progress!

Put simply “yoga has enabled me to live a life that I didn’t think possible”.
